Cubs (boys and girls ages 8-10)
Outdoor Adventure

Challenging hikes, weekend camps, and an introduction to water activities like canoeing or kayaking are just a few of the fun outdoor adventures that Cubs enjoy.

With the Cub motto of "Do Your Best" front and center, Cubs are encouraged to try new and more challenging activities.  Learning important first aid skills, paddling a canoe for the first time, or leading a game at camp will open the door for Cubs to try other adventures they never thought possible.

Cubs also experience an exciting variety of other activities:  games and sports, model-building, music, storytelling and play-acting.  And like Beavers, Cubs enjoy their adventures with their friends.

Cubbing is built around a lively variety of games, crafts, music, storytelling, play acting, spiritual fellowship and the outdoors. The Cub program focuses around six activity areas: The Natural World, Outdoors, Creative Expression, Healthy Living, Home and Community, and Canada and the World. Individual interests and skills are recognized through simple awards.

The outdoors is an essential part of the Cub program. Weekend events, hikes and overnight camping opportunities round out the Cubbing experience.

Cubs meet in a group called a pack. The pack is split into smaller groups called sixes. There is one leader for every six Cubs. Each Cub learns a promise, law and motto to help guide their personal development.

Wolf Cub Promise:
I promise to do my best
To love and serve God, to do my duty to the Queen;
To keep the law of the Wolf Cub pack,
And to do a good turn for somebody every day.

Wolf Cub Law:
The Cub respects the Old Wolf,
The Cub respects himself/herself.

Wolf Cub Motto:
Do Your Best

We've prepared a GROWN-UPS GUIDE to the Wolf Cub program for those who would like more information.

Matthew says:
"I like Cubs because you get to play with all of your  friends, and have fun together. My favorite thing we did in Cubs this year was going to pizza night! My favorite badge I received was the pet badge, because I have four pets, 3 cats and a dog, and I like them very much. My favorite camp this year was when we went to Camp Byng because you get to go into the forest, and it was a good adventure!"

Brian, writes:
"What l like best about Cubs is that we always have fun. The best thing I did in Cubs this year is playing games. The best badge that I received was red star because red was one of my favorite colors. My favorite camp was Camp Byng because we did lots of things."

Stefan, says:
"I liked when we went out to the Laser dome and rock climbing, and also the night hikes. I like being involved in community help, like neighborhood garbage cleanup. I liked selling popcorn but not shoveling manure.  My favorite thing this year was the Aquarium Sleep over.  My best badge was the Canadian Wilderness Award, because I worked hard for it and I think I deserved it. I liked our Winter Camp at the cabin on Mt. Seymour, because of all the snow and being able to dig snow caves.

Matthew says:
"I like Cubs because I like earning badges!"

Patrick says:
"I like Cubs because I like to go camping and roast hot-dogs on a camp fire!"

Tyler writes:
"I like Cubs because it's fun, it's cool, you get to meet a lot of friends, and you learn a lot."
